Google Launches Google Base, Now Live for All Users

Google Base is finally out of the workshop, and available to users. While still in a BETA stage, all areas of functionality seems to be in place.

Google Base is rumored to be a potential rival to online auction and classified systems like eBay. Focusing on online classified advertisements, the system was first leaked to the public last month when the company exposed a portion of the service because the company's Web servers were briefly configured incorrectly.

Google tells users that Google Base will "help the world find your content." Interestingly, Google also says that "based on the relevance of your items, they may also be included in the main Google search index and other Google products like Froogle and Google Local."
