Google Renames Urchin to Google Analytics
As originally covered in Danny Sullivan's blog on SEW, Google has announced that its Urchin web analytics will now be called Google Analytics
This renaming move is nothing new for Google. Earlier in the year Google renamed the Keyhole technology to be known now as Google Earth.
For users of these systems though -- there's good news. Just as Google made the Picasa photo software free, they have also announced that the new On Demand package of Google Analytics will be a free product. Covering up to five million page views, full capabilities to cover more page views becomes available for free if you hold an AdWords account. If not, a simple $5 deposit into a new account unlocks the software for you to use.
